Thrilled to share that I will be giving the Recent Advances Plenary Lecture at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Ecological Society of America on August 9 in Portland, Oregon!
In my remarks I will be highlighting the need to embed ecological disruption into modern security doctrine and architecture. Moreover, I will underscore the great need for ecological security research, as discussed in the recent report Five Urgent Questions on Ecological Security.
I’m eager to discuss the security implications of ecological disruption to an audience of (mostly) ecologists that almost certainly don’t think of their work relevant to the security enterprise. Not only will I endeavor to make that case, I will likewise argue that elevating ecological security makes security doctrine more egalitarian.
If you’re in Portland on the 9th for the meeting, please stop by and say hello!
